![]() Directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz At the end of Mercury's next journey, the dragon will dance through the hoop of Jupiter. If at that moment the monkey will ride the jaguar, and the tiger will feast on the nubile, the order of the universe will be such that Evil One will rank supreme for eternity. This time is now and only Kabukiman can stop it all. Harry Griswald (Rick Gianasi) is a fumbling, food loving, dorky but cute, clueless member of the N.Y.P.D. At a showing of a Kabuki performance that he attended, a shooting spree went off in hopes to assassinate the old man who is in the possession of the Kabukiman spirit. If this person is killed then the spirit would never be transferred to the chosen one and the evil one will never be stopped. The terrorists were successful and the old man was shot and left for dying. Of course good has a way of surviving and before the old man huffed his last breath, he passed the Kabukiman spirit on to Harry. Poor Harry Griswald is now going through many changes. As he put it: "I was depressed, I was confused and I was turning Japanese." He began to acquire a taste for raw mackerel, he embodied part of his costume at random times which only made him more bungling, and the only person he can turn to for help is the granddaughter of the old man, Lotis (Susan Byun). Lotis tells Harry of the prophecy of the Evil One and the duty that he now must fullfill. She trains him in hopes of creating a worth while hero. If he can not do the job then the world is doomed. In the midst of Harry's training, he realizes how great it is to stand up to the bad guys and fully accepts his new role. Also within the training, Lotis and Harry end up falling in love. ![]() By the time Harry has his Kabuki super powers in control, the Evil One is ready to come back to reign. The signs started to show up and everything started to align. Kabukiman saved us all and we saw the fall of the Evil One once again. As predicting and moronic this movie might seem, it is really staggering. It is one of the best Troma movies and is the first movie to have the infamous car crash scene (if you are a Troma fan, you know what I mean). Kabukiman is now a mascot along with the Toxic Avenger for Troma, he has an evil doppelganger and his own theme song. Even if you don't care much for Troma's stuff, check it out.
